First Reconciliation and First Communion
If a child is 7 years of age and in the second grade, that child
is eligible to prepare for First Reconciliation and
First Communion. Students preparing to receive
these sacraments must be enrolled in on-going faith
formation in addition to Sacramental Preparation
classes. If a child in your family is eligible to
begin preparation for these sacraments, please

Families must be registered parishioners of
St. Mark Catholic Church for their children to
prepare for sacraments in our programs. The
following paperwork will be collected for children
preparing for sacraments:

A copy of the student's birth certificate and
-
A copy of the student’s Baptism certificate.
There are several class options for sacrament
preparation and they will be discussed with parents
during their initial contact with the RE Office.
Sacramental Preparation for High School Confirmation
Diocesan guidelines state that a student must be at
least 15 years of age at the time they begin
preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation. If
your teen will be 15 before January 2010, s/he
is eligible to prepare to receive the Sacrament of
Confirmation in the spring of 2010.
All students
preparing for Confirmation must also be
registered for religious education.
The following
paperwork will be collected for teens preparing for
this sacrament:

A copy of the student’s Baptism certificate
Rite
of Christian Initiation for Adults
RCIA is an appropriate course for adults who wish to
learn more about the basics of their faith or who
are interested in exploring the Catholic faith with
the possible intention of becoming Catholic. Classes
meet from 7-9 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hall
(portable E). Adults who wish to attend as a guest
for a single topic are always welcome. Those
interested in exploring the Catholic faith with a
possible intention to become Catholic should contact

All required paperwork, class and other
information will be discussed in an initial
interview.
Adult Confirmation
Each year at Pentecost, the Bishop confirms Catholic
adults who did not prepare for the sacrament of
Confirmation at an earlier age. There will be an
Adult Confirmation Retreat on Saturday, April 26 in
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hall (portable E) from 10
a.m.-4 p.m. to prepare adults for reception of the
Sacrament of Confirmation on Pentecost. For more
